I was so excited when the board read 5-1 on Charitable Man, I got a touch of greed fever. Before the race 9-2 was a great price on the Man with all the money pouring in on the more well known Bird. Then on the turn it looked so good but the Man horse came up empty.

The win was not to be. The unexpected event of Dunkirk setting a hot pace took a it of starch out of the Man. I think that was a reaction to the noticeable speed bias affecting the results all day. Mine That Bird moved too early as well. Everyone moved too early except for the winner. Losing is not fun and neither is being wrong but if you play this game it is going to happen. Congrats to the connections of Summer Bird, he ran great and had a nice ride.

26 11-3-1
strike rate 43%
cumulative return 81.60
$2 ROI $3.14G. If there was a place to book it, I would have bet that Summer Bird would run dead last...was just so sure that he was the sucker horse, that the Arky Derby was a negative key race. The signs were there; quite a few sharps were touting him. But I was convinced he was this race's wise guy tank-job.

Meanwhile, my two horses ran next to last, and next to next to last...DOH!Chollyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03487478432638223243noreply@blogger.com
