Like Mother Like Daughter~Play Of The Day

Belmont Park Race 9

Looks like Senada is ready for a breakout race today at Belmont Park. It took a graded placed filly to beat her last race; there are no such fillies entered today. The three year old daughter of Owsley should be ready for this race. Senada's mother loved Owsley loved Belmont Park, loved the inner turf and loved 10 furlongs. In fact Owsley won the 2002 New York handicap over the inner turf at this distance. Today is Senada's turn to follow in her dams hoofprints. Who is better training a young horse to negotiate ten furlongs than Barclay Tagg? He has given this $800K purchase plenty of time, has schooled her through 5 works and should have her ready to win. It looks like Senada is going to stalk the pace patsy Gold d' Oro. When Senada takes over at the top of the lane the gaggle of closers entered will run out of gas in the lane over this 10 furlong trip. With horses in the race from the well bet Mott, Clemente and Chad Brown barns we should get a square price on Senada today.

Glad I read your post, I loved Owsley and didn't realize Senada was running today. I took a quick look at the race and I think I will play her with that Sadler's Wells filly. How many more of those will we see?
Good Luck!

Thanks! I played a $1 tribox and $1 superbox using the 8, as well as the other horses you mentioned 2-5-6 (Mott, Clemente and Chad Brown) and turned my $24 bet into $211! What a nice Sunday afternoon treat!

Glad someone was smarter than me and nailed this race. The "power play" win bet is not the only wager in the arsenal and it clearly was the wrong wager here.

Of all things the "patsy pace" goes wire to wire; beaten by my own pet inner turf angle. Senada is the kind of filly that could get it all together one day and win a few stakes races. She looked okay late closing too late for the show money. At this point she still seems a bit green. By the times she wins she will likely by 8-5 after teasing so many times.

Good job R.C. cashing on this race. Pretty solid return for all the logical contenders running 1-2-3-4.

Samyn, check the head-on replay. The bug boy on the LS gave Senada much, much trouble. Including going very wide on the far turn. Much the best IMO, esp against glacial pace on the inner. Check it out...Cice
